At The Modern Hive, we transform spaces into personalized sanctuaries, blending sophistication with everyday comfort so you can truly love where you live.
It’s about creating a seamless, stress-free experience that results in a home perfectly tailored to your lifestyle. Founded by Courtney Otte, an award-winning interior designer with over a decade of experience, our firm specializes in turn-key, comprehensive design solutions that take the guesswork out of the process.
Whether you're building, remodeling, or furnishing a home, our approach ensures that every element is intentional, timeless, and uniquely yours. We don’t do cookie-cutter design—we craft spaces that reflect your individuality while elevating your everyday life. From initial concept to final installation, we handle every detail with precision, so you don’t have to.
My passion for interior design started at an early age, but it was during my time working for a custom home builder that I truly saw the impact thoughtful, intentional design can have on a home and the people who live in it. I founded The Modern Hive in 2012 with a vision: to create effortless, livable luxury for busy homeowners who value beauty, comfort, and precision in every detail.
With a journalism degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and an interior design degree from Metropolitan Community College, I bring a unique perspective to design—combining creativity with a deep understanding of storytelling and visual composition. Over the years, I’ve had the honor of winning multiple ASID and PRO awards and seeing my work published in leading design publications.
At The Modern Hive, my team and I are dedicated to delivering turn-key, highly personalized interiors that feel both sophisticated and effortless. Whether you're building, remodeling, or refining your home, my goal is to guide you through the process with expertise, clarity, and a design vision that stands the test of time.
